Sri Lanka presidential election: Left-winger Dissanayake to be elected as new president, third place

In the Sri Lankan general election, outgoing President Ranil Wickremesinghe suffered a major blow at the hands of leftist leader Anurad Kumara Dissanayake. Dissanayake won a landslide victory and will become the next president of Sri Lanka. Wickremesinghe trailed in third place. Sajith Premadasa will once again play the role of the main opposition leader. His party, Samagi Jana Balavegaya, came second in the presidential election.
