‘Split’ in opposition boycott… After Mamata Banerjee, Hemant Soren will also attend NITI Aayog meeting

There has once again been a split in opposition unity. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has made it clear that she will participate in the Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog. Mamta has also claimed that along with her, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren will also be a part of the NITI Aayog meeting.

In Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee said, I have already decided that I will go (to the NITI Aayog meeting). But their (Centre) attitude is different. He has asked us to write to him explaining how Bengal has been deprived of the budget. We cannot accept this.

Mamta said that she does not like this discrimination. The central government has discriminated in the budget. That is why I have decided to go to the NITI Aayog meeting to raise my voice and will remain there for some time. If they allow us to say something, we will express our views. Hemant Soren is also going to attend this meeting. We will try to express our concerns.

Mamta further said, the central government has imposed a political and economic blockade. BJP wants to divide the people and Bengal.

In fact, the opposition parties included in the India Bloc have announced that they will not participate in the NITI Aayog meeting to be held on Saturday. Chief Ministers of opposition ruled states have claimed to boycott this meeting. This includes Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh. Earlier, Congress had also said that the Chief Ministers of party ruled states will not participate in the meeting to be held on July 27.
