Spain introduced new tourist rules affecting millions

Spain is implementing a series of new rules with the aim of curbing the negative impacts of large -scale tourism for a long -time preferred destination for British holidays. British tourists, who created the largest ratio of 94 million visitors who broke Spain’s record in 2024, are one of them who would be affected.

Balaric Island: Depending on the quality of the housing, overnight fee may increase. Cruise ship passengers will have to face an increase of 200%.

Barcelona: Tourist tax is scheduled to double per night. Children below 16 years of age are exempted from both cases.
