The Samajwadi Party has offered votes to Jyoti Bind, the daughter of senior party leader Ramesh Chand Bind, who is contesting from the Majhwan Assembly seat using a PDA card. If we look at the history of Majhwa, SP has never won this seat. The BSP has won this seat maximum five times.
When SP state president Shyam Lal Pal was asked about the party never winning the Majhwa seat, he said this time this history will be broken. This time SP will achieve a historic victory in Majhwa constituency.
The SP has tried its best to win the Majhwa assembly by-election. But winning this seat has proven to be the biggest challenge the Samajwadi Party has faced so far. The party tried everything it could to win the seat but failed.
Let us tell you that SP gave this seat to Shivshankar Singh Yadav for the first time in the 1996 Assembly elections. He ranked third. In the 2002 elections, the Samajwadi Party nominated Bhagwat Pal as its candidate, and he came third. After this, Shiv Shankar Yadav got the seat again in the 2007 elections but he was disappointed again.
SP doesn’t win in Majhwan
Thereafter, the Samajwadi Party fielded Brahmin faces in Majhivan three times in a row, but the Samajwadi Party failed to taste victory. SP gave votes to Rajendra Prasad Pandey in the 2012 Assembly elections, to Rohit Shukla in the 2017 Assembly elections and to Rohit Shukla in the 2022 Assembly elections. All SP candidates ranked second. But this time, Akhilesh Yadav played a new trick and won the seat. In the 2024 Assembly by-elections, the PDA gave its ticket to Jyoti Bind, daughter of Samajwadi Party leader Ramesh Chand Bind, who has been MLA from Majhwan for three consecutive terms.
