Police have arrested

Shin Yong Hye, director of South Korea’s Correctional Service, said Kim Jong-un tried to commit suicide but was saved. Kim was arrested on Wednesday after a court in Seoul issued an arrest warrant for him, accusing him of playing a key role in martial law and abuse of power. Kim was the first person arrested after martial law was declared on December 3.

Political unrest caused by martial law

Notably, Yun and his associates currently face rebellion charges. Many people, including the president, are subject to travel bans. President Yun Suk-yeol declared emergency martial law on Tuesday (December 3) night, but it was revoked after parliament voted against it on Wednesday. Martial law was imposed for only a few hours.
