Someone snatched jewellery, someone molested a woman… Action against 7 policemen involved in ‘crime’ in Kanpur

The job of the police is to stop crime. People who molest women must be caught, but Kanpur police seems to prefer committing crimes rather than catching criminals, which is why seven policemen in Kanpur were suspended in a single day. Some of them touched the woman seriously, some asked the businessman to return it, and some walked away from the thief and snatched away the stolen jewelry.

Kanpur Joint Commissioner of Police Harishchandra on Monday suspended seven policemen facing various charges. The inspector, sub-inspector and two head constables of Rail Bazar police station area have been accused of misappropriating jewelery worth around Rs 20 lakh, leaving the thieves behind.

When all these cases came to light in a day, Kanpur police ran into trouble. Therefore, the authorities take it very seriously and the entire police department regrets the criminal behavior of its own officers. Joint Commissioner of Police Harish Chandra said the job of the police is to keep the public safe from criminal elements but if any police officer does something wrong in the guise of uniform, he will not be spared. These cases are currently under investigation and a report will be issued upon completion. According to him, effective action will also be taken against the remaining policemen.
