Sam Pitroda, chairman of Indian Overseas Congress, who has been a problem for Rahul Gandhi and Congress many times, has once again become a cause of embarrassment in the party. While addressing the NRIs on the very first day of Rahul Gandhi’s US visit, Pitroda, while praising Rahul Gandhi, ruined all his praises by calling him Pappu. He said that Rahul Gandhi’s agenda is to solve big issues. He has such a vision for which BJP spends crores of rupees. He said, let me tell you that he is not Pappu but is very well educated. He is a strategist, who has deep knowledge on any subject. Rahul Gandhi’s image is now emerging as a sharp leader, even the leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party have stopped calling him Pappu. At such a time, by repeating that old thing, he has once again started a debate on Rahul Gandhi being Pappu. This innocence of Pitroda has started a debate in the political corridors. Some people are saying that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress leaders are actually Pappu who are unable to get rid of Sam Pitroda. Just this week, Pitroda in a statement had called Rahul Gandhi a smarter and sharper leader than Rajiv Gandhi.

1- Even BJP has stopped calling him Pappu now…

The biggest thing is that the Bharatiya Janata Party has stopped calling Rahul Gandhi Pappu. Recently, there is no such example when someone from the top leadership of BJP has called Rahul Gandhi Pappu. In the Parliament, PM Narendra Modi did call him a childish person, but he is avoiding personal attacks like Pappu. It is clear that BJP is now avoiding personal attacks against Rahul Gandhi. At such a time, why did Sam Pitroda give another opportunity to BJP to attack Congress by calling Rahul Pappu? At a time when Congress is building the image of Rahul Gandhi, why is Sam Pitroda not being blamed for such blunders and shown the way out? It is said that one is forgiven for making one mistake but one’s own child is not forgiven for making mistakes repeatedly.

If Congress can control Mani Shankar Aiyar and Digvijay Singh, then why is Sam Pitroda being so lenient. Not only this, after making racist remarks on Indians, Congress had asked Pitroda to resign. But surprisingly, after the Lok Sabha elections, he was reinstated to the same post. It is not understandable that if a person can harm the party in the Lok Sabha elections, then will he not harm the party in the state assembly elections. Obviously, this question will arise that why is Sam Pitroda a burden on the party.

2-Why Sam Pitroda is important for Congress

In fact, the Congress wants that just like the BJP is being surrounded in the country, in the same way, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS should also be targeted abroad. Everyone knows that Sam Pitroda has been the main organizer of Rahul Gandhi’s foreign trips. During his foreign trips, Rahul Gandhi often interacts with educational institutions or experts from various fields, Pitroda is behind it. Pitroda has to be praised in this matter that whatever Rahul Gandhi says abroad is being discussed globally. During his UK tour of about a week in February-March, 2023, Pitroda had crafted Rahul’s visit in such a way that Rahul was discussed a lot in the West media. Pitroda had organized an address at Cambridge University, a discussion and meeting at the Chatham House think tank in London. In which Indian-origin Labor Party MP Virendra Sharma also participated. In these meetings, Rahul Gandhi had strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is clear that Pitroda has a strong network abroad, which the central leadership of the party considers beneficial in spreading its message outside the country. Pitroda has good connections with foreign countries, especially the academic circles of the West. He helps the party plan programs abroad. He also has good connections within the diplomatic community. Taking advantage of this, the Congress targets the Bharatiya Janata Party abroad in the name of discussing social and political issues with the NRIs.

3- Is Congress doing all this as part of a strategy?

Now the question arises whether Congress deliberately allowed Rahul Gandhi to be called Pappu as part of some strategy. Nowadays, agencies working for image building do many such things which are beyond the understanding of common people. An American image building agency was said to be behind the dangerous level of rhetoric going on between former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav and his father former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav. It was then said that to establish Akhilesh completely in the party, such statements were made by Mulayam Singh Yadav which no one could digest.

It is possible that Congress is also doing something similar. Because now Rahul Gandhi’s star is at its peak. It may be Congress’s strategy to tell the common people how their leader was proved to be Pappu. Be it Congress or Sam Pitroda, they have been saying that BJP spends several hundred crores to prove Rahul Gandhi to be Pappu. It is possible that under this strategy Congress wants to make BJP the villain?
