A man committed suicide in his car in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka state, on Saturday. The man is said to be about 42 years old. Local people saw the car on fire and immediately called the police. Police rushed to the scene and recovered the man’s burnt body from his Skoda car.
Late Pradeep C. was a resident of Nagarbhavi and worked as a hotel consultant. The incident took place on an abandoned road in Byadarahalli Muddinapalya at 4:00 pm on Saturday. Srinivas Murthy E., the patrolling officer, received a call from the police helpline and when he reached the spot, he saw the Skoda car engulfed in flames. He informed the fire department’s control room about the incident.
Burnt body found in driver’s seat
Later, fire engines were dispatched to put out the fire. After extinguishing the fire, police found Pradeep’s burnt body in the driver’s seat. A police officer said Pradeep might have committed suicide due to recent business losses. According to police, Pradeep purchased four liters of petrol in two two-litre cans minutes before the incident.
5 family members took poison
According to other reports, five members of a debt-ridden family in Baluya village under Amarpur police station area in Banka district of Bihar consumed poison and three of them died while two others are in critical condition. The police provided this information. The incident happened late Friday night. According to villagers, the deceased Kanhay Mahato (40 years old), a resident of Barua Village, had borrowed money from many financial companies but was unable to repay it. He may have taken this step along with other family members as the pressure to repay the loan mounted.
