Indian female star PV Sindhu had a one-sided performance in the final of the Syed Modi International Super 300 Badminton Championships in Lucknow. Sindhu defeated China’s Luo Yuwu in straight sets in the final on December 1 and won the gold medal. Sindhu won the Syed Modi International Championship for the third time in her career.
Sindhu did not give the Chinese player a chance to come back in both sets.
In the first set of the final, PV Sindhu kept putting pressure on Chinese player Luo Yuwu and finally won 21-14. After that, Sindhu continued to perform well in the second set and won the game 21-16. Sindhu was completely dominant throughout the game and did not give the Chinese players any chance to make a comeback. This is Sindhu’s first championship title in 2024, and she last won the championship at the Singapore Open in July 2022. Now she has successfully ended her long championship drought.
Reaching the championship finals for the second time this year
The year 2024 is nothing special for PV Sindhu, she has won Olympic medals for India twice but she has reached the finals only twice. Even at the Paris Olympics, Sindhu failed to perform as expected and was eliminated in the top 16. In addition, she also successfully reached the finals at the Malaysian Masters, but suffered a disastrous defeat by Chinese players here.
