Suppression of Sikhs for justice
Notably, the central government recently extended the ban on Sikh Justice for 5 years. This action was taken under UAPA. Let us tell you that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered six cases against Sikh Justice and US citizen Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. Last year, the agency also took over his properties in Punjab and Chandigarh. The Indian government had previously banned Sikh Justice in July 2019, and the ban will be extended this year.
In 2007, the Khalistani extremist Gurwant Singh Pannu founded the Sikhs for Justice, whose goal is to demand the establishment of an independent country for the Sikhs. It continues to engage in separatist activities and talks about liberating Punjab from India. The organization only demands that Punjab be separated from India and never talks about Pakistan.
