She praised her husband Apresh Ranjit for being her pillar of support during this painful time. “After my parents died in 2008, I fell into a severe depression. Aparesh was doing great in his career, but he gave it all up and we moved to India,” she shared , obviously very excited. She said that without Apresh’s support and sacrifices, his career in banking might have reached greater heights.

Noting how she gave up her flourishing career, he said, “You were one of the few actresses who could reach the same level as Madhuri. But suddenly, you decided to quit the industry.”

Shilpa graciously acknowledged the unexpected twists and turns in her life but expressed no regrets. “Par naseeb naseeb ki baat hai, I don’t regret anything,” she replied. Gunaratna further said that while she may not regret her choice, her fans missed the opportunity to see her on screen during her break.
