Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat returned to India on 17 August (Saturday). Vinesh got a warm welcome at Delhi airport. Vinesh was received at the airport by star wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia. Vinesh has now gone to her native village Balali from Delhi. Preparations were made to welcome Vinesh from Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi to her village Balali for her return home.

Vinesh Phogat created history by reaching the final of women’s 50 kg freestyle wrestling in the Paris Olympics. For the first time an Indian wrestler had reached the finals. But gold was expected from Vinesh in the finals, but before that, something unexpected happened. Vinesh was disqualified on the day of the final competition due to being 100 grams overweight. Vinesh appealed against this decision in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and demanded that she be given the combined silver medal. However, CAS had rejected the appeal of star wrestler Vinesh Phogat.

Tharoor is very active on social media

Shashi Tharoor is among those Congress leaders who are very active on social media. However, on many occasions his statements have created problems for the Congress party. In 2006, Tharoor contested the election for Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), but could not win. After this, he entered Indian politics and took membership of Congress.

68-year-old Shashi Tharoor contested his first Lok Sabha election from Thiruvananthapuram in 2009 and won. In 2009, during the second term of Manmohan Singh, Shashi Tharoor was made the Union Minister of State for External Affairs. After this, he also remained the Minister of State for Human Resource Development from 2012-14.
