Sharad or Uddhav, Ajit or Shinde… who won the seat allocation in the BJP-Congress alliance?

Sharad or Uddhav, Ajit or Shinde… who will dominate the seat distribution in both alliances?

The first phase of Maharashtra election agitation has ended. The deadline for nominations has ended for all 288 seats in the state. After the nominations were submitted, the battle over seat allocation between the two alliances was also completely resolved. In Maharashtra, the Congress is vying for the largest number of seats on behalf of the NDA, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Union of India.

However, the question is about Ajit Pawar, Sharad Pawar, Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray. The four leaders have been at the center of Maharashtra politics over the past five years due to partisan differences.

Pawar Sr. managed to win 88 seats

Sharad Pawar-led NCP had contested 125 seats in the last election. In 2023, a split occurred in the party, with nephew Ajit and other important leaders joining the New Democratic Alliance. Sharad Pawar won 9 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. In parliament, Sharad’s party was supposed to get only about 55 seats, but Sharad Pawar wrested 88 seats from the Indian Union.

Sharad Pawar’s party has so far fielded candidates in 88 seats. Most of these seats are from the seats contested by the NCP in 2019. How Sharad Pawar secured 88 seats remains a topic of political discussion.

Pawar won most of the seats in Western Maharashtra and Marathwada. This is Pawar’s stronghold.

Ajit was often rebellious and was restricted to less than 60 people.

Ajit Pawar launched a major rebellion in 2023. Apart from 42 MLAs, Ajit also bagged all the important leaders of the NCP in his bag. Ajit’s stake in the NDA is considered large, but he contested in less than 60 seats.

Apart from gating, Ajit also has the opportunity to contest only in those seats where he has strong candidates. However, most of Ajit’s candidates are competing against Sharad uncle’s candidates.

Uddhav Thackeray defeats Eknath Shinde

Shiv Sena split in 2022. One group consists of Eknath Shinde and the other group consists of Uddhav Thackeray. Uddhav Thackeray’s group has entered into an alliance with the Congress and Sharad Pawar in the electoral fight. Eknath Shinde, on the other hand, is in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Ajit Pawar.

Uddhav Thackeray beat Eknath Shinde in seat-sharing. The Uddhav faction has so far fielded candidates in 85 seats. The group developed a strategy to field candidates to 95 seats.

Uddhav has also fielded candidates in seats where Congress was strong last time. These include Bandra East, Ramtek and Nashik West seats.

Sindh, on the other hand, got a chance to contest from less than 80 seats. The Sindhi faction has a chance to contest most of the seats in Mumbai and Thanakonkan. In 2019, the United Shiv Sena fielded candidates in 124 seats.

BJP, Congress suffer losses in seat-sharing

The BJP and the Congress suffered in terms of seat sharing. In 2019, the BJP fielded candidates in 152 seats. This time the party fielded candidates for 148 seats. Like the BJP, its smaller parties have also suffered losses.

RPI (Athawale) contested 6 seats last time. This time he only has one spot in the competition. Congress also suffered in terms of seat sharing. This time Congress fielded candidates for 102 seats.

The party is said to want more seats but now has less chance of its demands being met in the coalition. In 2019, the Congress party has fielded candidates for 125 seats. However, it won only 44 seats.

288 seats will be elected on November 20th, and the results will be announced on the 23rd.

Elections to all 288 seats of the Maharashtra Assembly are scheduled to be held on November 20. The results for these seats will be declared on November 23. This time in Maharashtra, a big battle is between the NDA (BJP, Shiv Sena-Shinde and NCP-Ajit) and India (Congress, Shiv Sena (Uddhav) and NCP-Sharad) .

145 MLAs are needed to form the state’s government. In 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 105 seats and became the largest party. Congress won at least 44 seats. Shiv Sena won 56 seats and NCP won 54 seats.
