MP News: Mother and daughter jumped into the Narmada to save their son when he drowned while bathing in the Narmada river in Maheshwar, a tourist town in Khargone. All three died due to drowning in the swollen river. The police searched and took out the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. The incident has spread mourning.

This incident took place at Peshwa Ghat of Narmada River in Maheshwar, about 65 km from Khargone district headquarters. The Rajput family of Indore had come to take bath in the river. While bathing, 18 year old Vikram’s father Karan Singh started drowning in the Narmada river. Seeing this, 44-year-old mother Urmila and 25-year-old married sister Mohini jumped into the river to save husband Sanjay Das Vikram.

Mother Urmila and sister Mohini drowned and died while trying to save their son and brother. During the searching, the bodies of women Urmila and Mohini were recovered. When Vikram was searched, he too had died.

SDM Anil Jain says that the Rajput family living near Arvindo Hospital in Indore had come to Maheshwar for a visit. Here he reached Peshwa Ghat to take bath. This ghat is restricted for bathing. The woman and her married daughter died while bathing here. The woman’s son also died due to drowning.
