Schools and colleges in Karnataka declared holiday,
As a precautionary measure, schools and colleges have been declared closed as many villages under some gram panchayat in Chikmagalur district of Karnataka are infested by Beetamma gang. A program has been launched to capture elephants in villages. In this situation, the district administration has ordered prohibitory order in 11 villages as a precautionary measure. Meanwhile, some Gram Panchayat schools and colleges have also declared a holiday.
Coffee, pepper and banana crops were completely destroyed due to the growth of animals in the forest. Apart from this, people have to face many types of problems. According to sources, wild boar have set up camp in the coffee plantation of Rekat village and are destroying the entire crop. In this case, the district administration is implementing a plan to catch them.
The district government issued this order
The team is patrolling Chikkamagaluru taluk Magnihalli and Vastre Gram Panchayat Vyapari villages such as Mattavara, Dambadahalli, Shiragunda, Dungere, Moogrihalli and Aladagudde, Vastre, Nandikere, Dahuluvale, Samse, Dinnekere villages within Vastre Gram Panchayat limits to ensure safety of people and arrest The local government has issued an order asking the public to remain vigilant. Further, the Allur Zone Chikkamagaluru district forest officer has also requested that adequate security be provided to the surrounding villages where the forest is located during the period from 7 pm to 9 pm on November 10, 2024 and 9 pm on November 11, 2024.
No movement of staff
Pursuant to the district administrative order, prohibitory orders have been imposed on the said villages, purportedly due to public safety concerns. As schools were declared closed, according to the district administrative order. and colleges, the movement of students and college staff will be restricted but has been prohibited.
