A case of rape of a 12th class student by a school bus driver has come to light in Punjab. According to the information, the accused driver first blackmailed a 12th class girl by tampering with her photo in Zirakpur and then committed the crime of rape.
Regarding this incident, the police said that the school bus driver has been arrested on charges of rape. According to the police, the accused Mohammad Razak (26) followed the minor girl for a few days and then tried to befriend her. The victim had rejected his friendship proposal.
According to the news agency report, the police said that the accused driver tampered with the pictures of the minor student and started blackmailing her. He threatened that if she did not agree to his demands, he would post those pictures on social media.
An official said that the accused raped the school going girl three times between May and July at her home. During this time the girl’s parents were out of the house for some work. Police said that the matter came to light when the parents saw their daughter upset and asked her the reason for it.
Regarding the incident, Zirakpur DSP Jaspinder Singh said that a police complaint was later filed and the accused was arrested on Wednesday. Singh said, a case has been registered against Razak under sections of rape, criminal intimidation and POCSO Act. He said that further investigation is underway.
