Once again Independence Day has come. It has been coming continuously since independence, yet we have to recognize that 15th August is our national festival. It has great importance. It has the greatest importance for film people. If this day had not happened, then through what medium would they have spoken about patriotism is a very burning question.
The filmmakers have shown so much patriotism through this day that even the soul of the country has trembled. The contribution of actor-director Manoj Kumar in this field is amazing. It is incomparable and also unforgettable. He has personally handed over a freedom fighter named Bharat Kumar to the country. On his lines, Bollywood has also brought revolutionary Nana Patekar to the film industry with tremendous efforts. Many filmmakers and heroes have also sacrificed their lives in the name of patriotism. It is a different matter that in the process of renovating their homes, only their homes have been converted into big bungalows.
Like the cinema people, this day has a dangerous significance for the music company people also. On this day, they distribute so much patriotism across the country in so many voices that every ear gets used from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Every patriotic song that starts with enthusiasm and passion in the morning reaches such a terrible level by the evening that even the poor song becomes emotional due to its condition. Tears fall from the sound box, loudspeakers start crying. But no one can see. Well, let it be yes, in the meantime the common man also manages to do some work of being emotional.
On this day the government also illuminates government buildings. Through this medium, people who could not properly understand the importance of freedom during the day are now expected to break all limits of understanding about ‘this bright day’ in the light of night. If possible, break all the walls of thinking. If possible, leave behind yourself and impart this knowledge to the whole world with wisdom.
This holiday has great significance in the hearts of the employees also. They give full respect to this day and give up their sleep. They bring potatoes, onions and groceries and throw them in the house. They also pay tribute to film martyrs through patriotic films being telecasted on TV in the afternoon. People cry after watching patriotic movies from other countries on net flicks. We see with wide eyes the efforts of their heroines in the direction of patriotism. We sigh for the lack of glamor in our country’s patriotism. Sighing, remembering the routine work, he also settles the pending task of thrashing the children. Then we calmly go to our friend’s house to chat. The importance of this day remains constant in his mind throughout his work. They emphasize on squeezing every moment of this day with full patriotism.
Similarly, this day has great importance for many promising sons and daughters. On this day, they get free time and perform their national duty. They sacrifice their duty by making a reel on every particle and moment of the park, shop, land, house, sky, water, forest, drain and tap of this earth. Then sit back and watch the efforts made by others on similar particles and moments. Seeing him, everyone laments the poor quality of his camera and his talent from every angle.
This is a difficult day for mothers and wives. Husband and children keep requesting for poha-pakodas while sitting.
