Dr Sangeeta Balwant, Member of Parliament from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, raised questions on the Children’s Day celebrations on the birthday of the country’s former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He said in whose name Children’s Day is celebrated and what role do they play in the country? The MP said this while talking about Veer Bahadur Diwas.
He said the country has so far appointed five prime ministers, three of whom are from the same family, including former Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi . He said that Nehru and Indira Gandhi received the “Pagoda of India” during their lifetime, but Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar, who made great contributions to the formulation of the country’s constitution, did not receive the “Pagoda of India”. He said the BJP handed over Bharat Ratna to Bhimrao Ambedkar.

Apart from this, he also said that the 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh established the Khalsa when the terror against the Mughals arose in the country. Four of his sons sacrificed everything for the country and two of his sons, Fateh Singh and Zorawar Singh, sacrificed their lives for their religion. The MP said he agreed to sacrifice his life but did not convert or kneel before the Mughals.
