October 30, 2024: Sam Pounds has made the heartfelt decision to delay the release of his collaboration with the late Liam Payne, Do No Wrong. The song was originally to be the first posthumously released by the former One Direction star, who sadly passed away in Argentina.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on October 29, Sam expressed his commitment to honoring Liam’s family during this difficult time. “Today I have decided to stage ‘Do No Wrong’ and leave these freedoms to all members of the family,” he announced, stressing that all proceeds from the song will be donated to a charity of Liam’s family’s choice.
While Sam acknowledged the song’s appeal, he said, “As much as we all love the song, now is not the time,” stressing the importance of allowing the family to grieve peacefully. He expressed hope that the song would eventually be released, noting, “We’ll all be waiting.”

Sam shared a snippet of the song on Instagram, which features an audio message from Liam expressing his deep feelings of love and encouraging Sam to further develop the melody. This collaborative spirit emphasizes their connection as artists.
After Liam’s untimely death, Sam initially announced the song in the hope that it would bring comfort to Liam’s family, especially his young son Bear. “I pray this song will remove the negative echo,” he shared in a now-deleted post, expressing his thoughts to Liam’s loved ones at the sad moment.
Liam’s death was ruled a result of a fall resulting in multiple injuries, with a preliminary toxicology report showing the presence of multiple substances in his system, including pink cocaine. His sisters Nicola Payne and Ruth Gibbons publicly mourned his death, with Ruth reflecting on the struggles Liam faced in life. “I feel like the world isn’t good enough or kind enough for you,” she says poignantly, expressing her sadness and desire to save him.
