Salesforce Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff has declared that the world is entering the “Age of India,” reflecting the country’s growing importance in the global economy.

At Salesforce’s annual “Dreamforce” event, which will be held in San Francisco from September 17 to 19, Benioff expressed excitement about the company’s growth opportunities in India, where Salesforce has made significant investments. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

“You can see the world is entering the Age of India. There is no doubt that we are entering an incredible moment in India,” Benioff said, as quoted by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Salesforce, headquartered in San Francisco, is expected to reach revenue of $38 billion in fiscal 2025. The company currently has more than 11,000 employees in India, most of whom are responsible for serving the company’s global customers. However, the report said that the increasing adoption of digital technologies has also driven the growth of Salesforce’s business in India.

“We do all kinds of things in India, including engineering and support, but we also sell in the Indian market,” Benioff said, noting that the company serves major customers in India such as the Bajaj Group.

Benioff also praised Arundhati Bhattacharya, former governor of State Bank of India and current head of Salesforce India.

“Arundhati is an incredible leader. She comes from the banking world… We are very, very lucky to have her leading our business,” he commented.

Despite its rapid expansion, Salesforce has not disclosed specific business growth targets for the Indian market or specific details on increasing the number of employees in India.

Launch of Agentforce

At the same event, Salesforce unveiled its newest product, “Agentforce,” an autonomous AI solution designed to streamline business functions such as sales, service, marketing, and commerce.

According to the company, traditional tools such as co-pilots and chatbots are now obsolete because they require human input and cannot effectively handle complex, multi-step tasks.

Compared to a self-driving car, the new “Agentforce” tool can retrieve relevant data, develop an action plan, and perform tasks autonomously without human intervention.

Discussing the potential impact of AI on jobs, Benioff acknowledged that there could be job losses but said the outcome would depend on how companies manage the transition. He cited the example of an employee being moved into a sales role, which resulted in higher growth for the company.
