Saira Banu commemorates Dilip Kumar’s 102nd birth anniversary

In an Instagram post, Saira shared a touching video montage of their most cherished memories, reflecting on how Dilip Kumar’s presence changed her life. “Some people come into your life and stay and become a part of you in every way possible. This is what happened when Dilip Sahib came into my life and stayed with me forever,” she wrote, highlighting The depth of their bond.

While the world revered Dilip Kumar for his unparalleled acting skills and legendary status, Serra fondly remembers that, privately, he was a completely different person. “To the world, he was the epitome of manners, composure, chivalry, and his presence could silence a room,” she wrote. “However, whenever he was around me, he became a completely different person. He shed the aura of legend and allowed his inner child to emerge – playful, carefree, unburdened by the chaos of the world. ”

Saira also shared a heartwarming anecdote, recalling that Dilip Kumar loved traveling and would often invite his family to take spontaneous trips with him. “Whenever he takes a break from filming, he would ask us to accompany him to beautiful destinations. My brother Sultan’s children, other family members and I often go on these trips with him and create some of the best memories together,” she said.

One of the stories that stands out to Saira is that of Dilip Kumar’s spontaneous act. “I went to the airport just to see him off. Dilip Sahib surprised me when I mentioned that my shoot was cancelled. He sent his secretary to buy me a ticket and before I knew it, I went to a big wedding with him,” she recalled. Despite not being prepared for the trip, Saira said Dilip Kumar’s simplicity allowed her to become a part of his world effortlessly.

Saira also spoke about his generosity, revealing how Dilip Kumar would give valuable gifts like watches, sweaters and cufflinks to anyone who appreciated them. “I quickly realized that he was so content inside that material possessions had no real value to him. His art, his family and the love he gave and received were all that mattered to him.”

In an emotional tribute, Serra reflects on Dilip Kumar’s remarkable ability to be unencumbered by materialistic desires – a quality she admires not only in him but in many of the greats of Indian cinema. “Dilip Sahib embodies that rare quality of being so enriched by intangible wealth and unencumbered by worldly possessions,” she shared.

Concluding her post, Sierra expressed her deep love and reverence for the legend. “The world may revere him as a Kohino, but to me, he was just the man who made the ordinary extraordinary. Happy birthday, Yusuf Jain!” she wrote, paying tribute to the love of her life.
