Last year, Vikrant Massey’s film “12th Failure” left a lasting impression on the public. His recent Netflix film “Area 36” also left a deep impression on people. Now, the trailer of Vikrant’s new film Sabarmati Report is here and it will not only impress you but also pique your curiosity.
The Sabarmati Report is based on the 2002 riots in Godhra, Gujarat. In the trailer, the event is compared to the 9/11 attacks in the United States. The film also stars Vikrant Massey, Riddhi Dogra and Rashi Khanna.
The truth about Godhra riots
Vikrant and Rush play two intrepid journalists who witness the Godhra riots from very close quarters in Sabarmati Report. Together they set out to find the “truth behind the Godhra riots”. In one scene, Vikrant is pushed out of a government office-like place and as he leaves he shouts: “You have eaten the truth about the Godhra riots and one day every child in the country will ask you to give Give the answer.”
The trailer starts inside a court where a case against Vikrant is probably being heard. Maybe the story will move forward from the case in the movie and then unfold in flashback. In this story, Riddhi Dogra plays a TV news anchor who is preparing her own agenda regarding the incident. The trailer ends with a shocking scene that is reminiscent of Uri: The Surgical Strike as Vikrant and Rush try to find the truth behind these riots. Vikrant’s dialogue in this scene is – “This is the new India, it knows how to answer and it knows how to ask questions.” Watch the trailer here:
The delicate balance of trailers
A character in the trailer says: “The train from the center passes through Uttar Pradesh.” In the coming period, the train will pass through Gujarat. This conversation is of course very important, and similar things are happening in the country’s politics. But even the mention of Godhra divides people interested in politics.
In this case, the trailer of “The Sabarmati Report” seems to shy away from any political perspective on the incident. Instead, the focus is on “the truth about the riot.” No one can tell what this truth is. But it does raise curiosity as to what the search for “truth” in director Dheeraj Sharma’s film turns out to be.
The trailer of Sabarmati Report has a powerful effect in awakening curiosity. If the trailer of the film can maintain such attention, then the film, which will be released on November 15, can become Vikrant’s next big hit and see his strong performance again.
