Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a statement that 41 people were killed and more than 180 were injured in a Russian missile attack in Poltava. Zelensky called the attack a crime against humanity and said that two ballistic missiles targeted the area.

Zelensky said, “I have received initial reports of a Russian attack in Poltava. Two ballistic missiles hit the area. They hit an educational institution and a nearby hospital, partially destroying part of a building of the Telecommunications Institute.”

The deadliest attack in Poltava

The latest attacks by Russia targeted the central Poltava region of Ukraine and are said to be one of the deadliest attacks carried out by Moscow.
