Moscow:
Russia has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the May 9 celebrations to mark the 80th anniversary of victory over Germany in World War II, said Deputy Foreign Minister Andree Rudanko.
Moscow is expecting the Indian Prime Minister at the May 9 parade. This invitation has already been sent, and the work is being done on this journey, the Russian news agency Tace quoted Rudenco.
Rudenco said on Tuesday, “This work is being done, this should be done this year. It is their invitation.”
Russia has invited leaders of many favorable nations to participate in this year’s Victory Day Parade.
In January 1945, the Soviet army made an aggressive start against Germany. On 9 May, the commanders signed the Act of untimely surrender to Germany, which ended the war.
Prime Minister Modi visited Russia in July 2024, in about five years his first visit to the country. He visited the Far Eastern city Vladivostoc to participate in an economic closing in 2019.
During the last visit, PM Modi invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit India.
Putin has already accepted PM Modi’s invitation to visit India.
However, Putin’s travel dates have not yet been revealed.
Putin and PM Modi maintain regular contacts, every two months telephone talks. The two leaders also held the meetings of the individual, especially on the occasion of international events.
