Extra charge of 1% on rent payment
One of the major changes to be implemented in the country from August 1, 2024 is related to finance. This is going to affect cardholders using HDFC Bank Credit Card. The bank will now charge an additional charge of 1 percent from its credit card users on all rental transactions done through third party payment apps. This rule will be applicable on making payment through HDFC Bank credit card using PayTM, CRED, MobiKwik and other third-party apps. The maximum limit has been set by the bank at Rs 3,000 per transaction.

This much charge for utility transactions
According to India Today report, extra charges are also being imposed on utility transactions. However, no additional charges will be levied on transactions below Rs 50,000, but if the value of such payment exceeds Rs 50,000, a charge of 1 per cent will be levied, here also the per transaction limit is Rs 3,000. Exemption from duty on petrol and diesel, insurance payment
Under the new rules that are going to be implemented regarding fuel transactions, if the cardholder makes oil payment of less than Rs 15,000, then no fee will be charged, but for transactions more than this, a charge of 1 percent will have to be paid. Talking about payment of insurance premium, there will be no additional charges on Insurance Payments.

This new rule in educational payment
Any kind of educational payments made through third party apps will also be charged at the rate of 1%, however, no such charge will be levied on direct payments made through the official website of educational institutions or through POS machines. Will not be charged. Apart from this, International Educational Payments have also been exempted from this fee.
