The Delhi-Meerut Rapid Transit System has been completed for one year. The train will run on October 21, 2023. During the year, thousands of passengers enjoyed this high-speed, modern train service. The operation of this train has greatly changed the traffic in the capital Delhi, Ghaziabad, Sahibabad and surrounding areas. A year after the train started running, German Ambassador to India Philipp Ackermann also enjoyed the journey.
During the train journey, Philip Ackerman said he was happy to avail the services of the Delhi-Meerut transport system on the anniversary. He said that this is proof of the successful Indo-German cooperation between NCRTC and Deutsche Bahn. It’s modern, efficient, and changes the way commuting between these big cities happens.

Transported 4 million passengers in 365 days
The first passenger service of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (Delhi-Meerut RRTS) will start operations on October 21, 2023. Last Monday, India’s first RRTS service completed one year of operations. It has served more than 4 million passengers in the past 365 days. This is the first train service of its kind in India connecting Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut.
RRTS service is about to be expanded
A year after the train service was completed, Housing and Urban Affairs and Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also traveled on the train. He visited major stations on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. The current running mileage of this train is 42 kilometers. These include nine stations: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Gurdhar, Duhai, Duhai Station, Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North and Meerut South . The corridor will soon reach 54 km by connecting the Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar sections.
