India captain Rohit Sharma recently shared gripping details from the last few games of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup final victory over South Africa.

talking about great indian kapil showRohit reflected on the immense pressure South Africa faced when they needed to score 30 runs off 30 balls at the crease from set-piece batsmen Heinrich Klassen and David Miller.

He explained how important it was for him as captain to stay calm despite the nerves, saying: “We are all nervous and scared, but the captain has to show strength for the whole team.”

One of the key moments of the match was when Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant caused a slight interruption in play by cleverly taping his knee, disrupting the momentum of the South African batsmen.

Rohit admitted that while it was not the only reason for this shift, it played a big role in breaking their rhythm. Soon after, Hardik Pandya dismissed Klassen to swing the match back in India’s favour. Rohit also mentioned how the team dealt with pressure and even used sledging as a tactic to disrupt their opponents, highlighting the intensity of the game.

India eventually won by seven runs, their first ICC trophy in 11 years. Rohit himself was in fine form in the tournament, amassing 257 runs in three half-centuries. The victory was particularly meaningful for the team and the country, ending a long international title drought.
