CM Himanta Biswa Sarma
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a press conference on Sunday. During this period, the Prime Minister discussed many important issues related to national security. The CM said that in the past two months, we have been nabbing one or an entire foreign gang in our state every day. He further said, I feel some people are coming to our country due to the close border between Bangladesh and India. The CM also said that despite BSF’s continuous efforts, some Bangladeshis are still coming to our country. State governments have to play a very important role in this regard.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said Assam’s neighboring state Tripura has also identified some foreigners and Assam is also identifying these foreigners. The CM further said that despite our best efforts, foreigners still travel to different states of the country as so far we have found that many people have returned to Bangladesh, bringing new people from their country to India.
138 infiltrators captured
The CM said that the state government is taking strict action in this regard. “We’re coordinating with the Border Security Force, sometimes the Border Security Force, sometimes the state police, through joint operations to identify people,” he said. The chief minister also revealed that the state government has identified 138 infiltrators in the past two months and they have been sent back.
What is said about Rohingya Muslims?
Talking about the infiltrators, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that we are very surprised that the Bangladeshis who came to India were not Bangladeshi Hindus but Rohingya Muslims. He said that seeing what Bangladesh is doing to its minority Hindus, people want Bangladeshi Hindus to come to India, but only Rohingya Muslims come to India. Regarding Rohingya Muslims, the CM said that Rohingya Muslims are still trying to come to different states of our country. Every state government should be alert and should work with BSF to resolve this issue.
In Assam and Tripura, we are working closely to resolve the matter and find the infiltrators. He also said that if the Bangladesh government also starts tracing people, then I think it will be a good orchestra and it will be a systematic effort.
