Revolt RV1: Revolt launches its cheapest electric bike, pre-order starts at Rs 499

Revolt Motors, the country’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has officially launched its first electric bike, Revolt RV1, for the commuter segment. The bike has been launched in a total of two variants. The starting price of its base model has been fixed at Rs 84,990 (ex-showroom).

Motorcycles account for 70% of all two-wheeler sales in India and the commuter segment sees over 8 million vehicles sold every year. In this context, Revolt Motors has entered a large segment with the RV1. This is the cheapest bike in the company’s portfolio. The company has also started the official bookings. Customers can book it from the company’s official website and authorized dealers for just Rs 499.

Models and prices:

The RV1 and its premium version RV1+ are available in four colours and are priced starting at Rs 84,990 for the RV1 and Rs 99,990 for the RV1+. Both the versions are basically based on the RV series but have slightly different looks and designs. But their battery packs and ranges differ greatly.

Appearance and design:

The look and design of this bike is very similar to the company’s previous RV300 model. However, it has a round LED headlight. Apart from this, LEDs are also used for indicators and number plates. Wide tires, dual disc brakes, portable waterproof battery, LCD display, reverse mode make this bike even more outstanding.

Battery Pack and Driving Range:

The company has equipped the base model RV1 with a 2.2kW capacity battery pack. The RV1+ has a 3.24 kW battery pack. Its small battery pack can travel 100 km on a single charge, while the larger battery pack can travel 160 km on a single charge. The company says the bike is built with a sturdy frame and has a maximum load capacity of 250 kg.

Charging and top speed:

Both the bikes have a top speed of 70 km/h. However, it takes about 2.15 hours to charge the battery of the RV1 from 0% to 80%. Whereas, the battery of the RV1+ can be charged to 80% in 3.30 hours. The weight of the RV1 is 108 kg and the weight of the RV1 Plus is 110 kg. The company has equipped both the bikes with 240 mm disc brakes.

In the Revolt RV series, the company has provided a front telescopic fork suspension and a rear monoshock suspension. Its seat height is 790 mm, which means this bike is pretty good even for people of average height. Its wheelbase is 1350 mm. Apart from this, two people can sit comfortably on the integrated bench seat.

Warranty:

Revolt Motors offers a 5-year or 75,000 km warranty on this bike. In addition to this, the charger also comes with a 2-year warranty. You can charge the battery of the bike by connecting it to a regular household socket.
