Rajouri, September 21: National Congress (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah today asked the BJP to disclose the promises fulfilled after abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35-A.
He was speaking at an election rally organised by the NCP party in Nowshera in Rajouri district.
“Exorbitant promises were made by Jammu and Kashmir while abrogating Article 370 and 35A. It was alleged that Article 370 and 35A had brought development, employment and everything to a standstill in Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP considered these articles as stumbling blocks to setting up factories and industries,” Omar said.
He added that it has been five years since the abrogation of Article 370 and it is high time people should ask the BJP about these promises. The former chief minister further said, “Where are the factories, where is the promised development. Have any jobs been created?”
Omar Abdullah quoted the slogan of BJP’s twin-engine government and asked the BJP to tell the people what changes have been made by this twin-engine government
“Jammu and Kashmir has been running a dual-engine government for the past decade, but what has changed?” he said, adding, “This dual-engine government has failed.”
Omar Abdullah also criticised the BJP for intensifying terror activities across Jammu province and said the daily incidents of terror were worrying and fully in line with the narrative of an end to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
