Rajouri, September 25: Returning Officer Thana Mandi clarified that the elections to the assembly constituencies were conducted smoothly and peacefully without any major disruption.

“The allegation that polling agents of a particular party were not allowed to enter polling station No. 1.183, 142, 139, 138, 133 and 132 are completely unfounded. Polling agents of that party were not allowed to enter polling station No. 132, 133, 142 and 183 polling station and has been operating without any hindrance.”

However, he said: “In the case of polling stations 138 and 139, the polling agents were not authorized by the party itself and therefore the absence of these agents was due to an internal party decision rather than external interference.”

“In view of these facts, all the allegations made by the election candidates during the press conference are baseless and baseless. The election process continues to be conducted fairly and transparently in compliance with the guidelines provided by the Election Commission of India,” he added .
