Israel has issued an important statement on the new leader of the Lebanese extremist organization Hezbollah. Israeli Defense Minister Yov Galant said that Hezbollah’s new leader Naeem Qasim is the interim leader.
Galante said Qasim was appointed on an interim basis and he would not be able to hold the position long-term. Galante said in a social media post that the appointment was temporary. The countdown has begun.
The Israeli government says Qasim’s term will be the shortest in Hezbollah’s history. Lebanon has no other solution than disbanding the organization.
Let us tell you that just a day ago, Hezbollah announced that Naeem Ansari will serve as the new leader of the organization with immediate effect.
Why choose Naeem Qasim?
Hezbollah said in a statement that Qasim was chosen because of his passion for following the group’s principles and goals. Naeem is generally considered Hezbollah’s second-ranking leader. He was also one of the people who founded Hezbollah in the early 1980s.
Potential successors to Nasrallah also eliminated
After eliminating Hassan Nasrallah, Israel also killed his would-be successor. The Israeli military said Safiedine was killed in an airstrike in Beirut three weeks ago. Saifuddin, a relative of Nasrallah, was appointed by Hezbollah’s Jihad Council. He oversees Hezbollah’s financial and administrative affairs. He is seen as Nasrallah’s successor.
Nasrallah died of suffocation
Hassan Nasrallah died of suffocation from toxic fumes. He hid in a secret Hezbollah bunker in Beirut and was killed in an Israeli attack on September 27. Israel’s Channel 12 reported that Nasrallah’s secret bunker was destroyed in an Israeli attack, and the 64-year-old Nasrallah suffocated to death in poisonous smoke.
According to reports, due to the large-scale explosion, poisonous smoke was produced in the bunker, causing breathing difficulties. Let us tell you about the building that houses Hassan Nasrallah. Israel dropped 80 to 85 bunker bombs in surrounding neighborhoods. Bunker busters are bombs that destroy bases built deep underground. They can wreak havoc even deep below the surface.
The bomb landed on the building where Nasrallah was located, leaving a 30-foot-deep crater. What makes the GBU-72 series of bunker busting bombs special is that they can break through thick steel and concrete walls and attack at depths of 30 to 60 feet. According to media reports, when Nasrallah’s body was recovered from the scene, there were no signs of trauma on his body.
