Ranbir Kapoor talks reuniting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in ‘Love & War: Deets Inside’

November 25, 2025: Ranbir Kapoor is all set to team up with acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the much-anticipated epic: love and war. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, the film has already created a buzz in the industry. At the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, Ranbir shared his excitement about reuniting with the director who launched his acting career.

Ranbir Kapoor pays tribute to Sanjay Leela Bhansali

During an on-stage interaction at IFFI, Ranbir recalled his long relationship with Bhansali, calling him his “godfather”. He said, “Everything I know about movies, everything I know about acting, I learned from him.”

Ranbir works with Bhansali for the first time as assistant director black (2005) before making his directorial debut Savaria (2007). Describing Bhansali’s passion for filmmaking, Ranbir added: “He hasn’t changed at all. He’s very hard-working. All he thinks about is his movie. He just wants to talk about the character and he wants you to create and do something different.”
