Rampur Police of Uttar Pradesh has been accused of giving third degree to a Dalit man by locking him in the outpost. On the complaint of his wife, the police caught the man and brought him to the post. But here he was brutalized. There are marks of beating on the victim’s body. Three policemen including the Inspector have been accused in the case. The matter has become a topic of discussion in the area.
Let us tell you that the whole matter is of Shahbad police station area of Rampur, where there was a dispute between the husband and wife living in Dhakiya police post area. On which the wife went to the police station and lodged a complaint against her husband Rishipal. It is alleged that after hearing the complaint, the police became so enraged that they beat up Rishipal, brought him to the post and gave him third degree in the night.
The police confined Rishipal in the outpost and beat him so brutally that marks of beating appeared on his body. Made him die. In the morning, when victim Rishipal’s wife came to meet him, she couldn’t control her husband after seeing his condition and she freed him and took him home. Rishipal is from Dalit community. He alleges that the police beat him even more brutally after asking about his caste. His body has turned blue due to the beating by the police.
When the matter came to the notice of police officials, they started investigation. Prima facie the mistake of the policemen has come to light. For this, the Superintendent of Police took action and suspended the Dhakiya outpost incharge and two constables.
Expressing his pain, Rishipal said that his wife had complained about him. On which two policemen came from Dhakiya post and took me away. After picking me up, they beat me on the way and then after locking me in the checkpoint, they beat me. After asking about the caste, he killed more. Late at night I was stripped naked and beaten so much that I became unconscious. Called my family in the morning, on which my wife came to the post and seeing my condition, took me with her.
Meanwhile, Rampur Superintendent of Police Vidyasagar Mishra said that the victim was brought to the post for questioning by Head Constable Jaidev and Constable Amit. He was beaten up during interrogation. In relation to which a complaint application was given by him. On the basis of the application, a case has been registered against them (policemen) under relevant sections and taking disciplinary action, both the constable and the post in-charge have been suspended.
