Ramban, September 22: Four persons, including the owner, driver and two others of a truck, were arrested by the police for faking an accident.

According to the police, on September 14, the Ramsoo Police Station received information through reliable sources that a vehicle driven by Mohammad Shabir, the son of Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Tuliresi, was registered Truck No. JK20C-3611 overturned on a truck while it was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar. It is located in a deep gorge about 350-400 meters in the Panthyal area of ​​the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.

Based on information, a case of FIR-106 of 2024 was registered at Ramsoo police station under Section 281 of BNS and a police team led by SDPO Banihal along with SHO Ramsoo visited the crime scene and noticed some foul play in the accident. Realizing the seriousness of the foul play in the accident, NSA chief Ramban Kulbir Singh formed a special police team to find out the facts behind the fake accident. During the investigation, the police team traced the driver of the said vehicle, Mohammad Shabbir.

Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban Kulbeer Singh said that while questioning the driver Mohd Shabir revealed that on September 12, he loaded a consignment of dry fruits on the instructions of the truck owner Mohammad Abdullah, son of Abdul, a resident of Reasi Tuli in Chassana district of Tehsil. (400 boxes) from Gangyal to Srinagar.

During the night of September 12-13, the truck owner and two others transferred the cargo of dry fruits that was destined for Srinagar to another truck near the Ban Toll Plaze area and stored only 10 to 15 boxes in the warehouse . The truck will be delivered in Srinagar.

On the instructions of Abdullah, the owner of the truck, the police seized the dry fruit boxes and the truck in Buddal Rajouri area where the cargo of dry fruits was transshipped near Ban Toll Plaza. The police confirmed that the four arrested persons were Mohammad Shabir, the son of Ghulam Nabi, and Mohd Abdullah, the son of Abdul.
