October 12, 2024: The highly anticipated re-release of the Japanese-Indian animated film Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama Has been postponed. The film was originally scheduled to be released on October 18, 2024, but has been rescheduled.
Distributor Geek Pictures India, in partnership with AA Films and Excel Entertainment, shared the news via an official note on social media. They explained that the delay was to ensure that the film reaches a wider audience in India.
Geek Pictures would like to express its gratitude to the Indian audience for their overwhelming support and enthusiasm. They emphasized that the decision to adjust the release date reflects their commitment to bringing this iconic masterpiece to fans in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu. The team assured that a new release date will be announced soon and they remain committed to getting the film a nationwide release.
The film, which was originally screened at the International Film Festival of India in 1993, holds a special place in the memories of many who grew up watching it on platforms like Cartoon Network.
