The ninth meeting of the NITI Aayog Governing Council is going on under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss various development issues and policy matters. NITI Aayog is the central government’s think tank for policy making. The Prime Minister is the Chairman of NITI Aayog and the Chief Ministers of all states, Lieutenant Governors (LGs) of Union Territories and several Union Ministers – such as Home, Finance, Defense and Agriculture Ministers – are its members.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and many BJP Chief Ministers are present in the meeting at NITI Aayog Bhavan. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is also present in the meeting. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren also did not attend the meeting. Earlier it was reported that Hemant Soren would attend the meeting, but now he refused to attend.
If sources are to be believed, the Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states have been instructed to give a presentation to PM Modi in the meeting highlighting the major achievements of their government.

Besides, he has also been asked to give a presentation to the PM during the meeting regarding the implementation of central schemes and their progress. Let us tell you that many Chief Ministers of India Block have boycotted this meeting. Meanwhile, several others, including Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, Kerala Chief Minister and CPI(M) leader Pinarayi Vijayan, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and all three Congress chief ministers – Karnataka’s Siddaramaiah, Himachal Pradesh’s Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Opposition Chief Ministers (CMs) have announced to boycott the important meeting of NITI Aayog.
Main agenda of NITI Aayog meeting
In the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, the focus will be on making India a developed nation by 2047. Discussion will be held on creating a delivery mechanism to improve the quality of life of the people living in villages and cities through partnership and cooperation between the Central and State Governments. NITI Aayog said in a statement, India is on its way to become the world’s third largest economy with a GDP of five trillion dollars and the country will achieve the target of 30 trillion dollar economy by 2047. The vision of making India a developed nation by 2047 will be discussed in the ninth meeting of the NITI Aayog Governing Council.
