A cleric was arrested on Sunday for raping a five-year-old girl at a mosque in Rajasthan’s Alwar district. Police said the girl was playing outside her home. Then Maulvi Asjad (22) took him into the mosque. Raped her there.
Rajgarh SHO Ramjilal Meena said the matter came to light when the girl’s mother entered the mosque in front of the house in search of the girl. There were innocent girls screaming in pain. As soon as Maulvi saw the victim’s mother, he fled from there.
Thereafter, the victim’s mother lodged a complaint with the Rajgarh police station. Accordingly, the police registered a case against the accused Maulvi Asjad under various sections of the Indian Judicial Code and the POCSO Act and arrested him. The matter is under investigation.
