According to information received from the government, other communities have been directed not to hold any kind of procession on the occasion of Barawafat following the tension between the two parties in Jahazpur district on Saturday.
There was stone pelting during the procession of Pitambar Rai Maharaj.
Meanwhile, communal tension spread in Jahazipur and chaos ensued in the area after a procession of Pitambala Rai Maharaj (Bewan) pelted stones during the Jajurani Ekadash festival in Jahazipur on Saturday. Many youths, including a woman, were injured in the stone pelting. After the incident, people participating in the procession raised slogans against the other party. On receiving information about the incident, BJP MP from Jahazipur Gopichand Meena rushed to the spot and sat on the shrine outside the religious place demanding the arrest of the accused.
MLA Gopichand Meena said he would continue to sit on the dharna and no procession for Lord Jalvihar would be held in the town until the stone-pelting accused were identified and arrested. The incident created tension in Jhazpur town. The market in the town has been closed. Heavy police force has been deployed.
Meanwhile, a heavy police force including Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajit Singh Meghvanshi and Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ram Bana has been deployed at the spot. In addition, Ajmer Range DIG Om Prakash also informed that the Inspector General of Police of Shahpura is leading a police force to reach Jahazipur. The situation is under control and the police are busy searching for the accused.
