Rain causes trouble in Delhi, heavy traffic jam in many areas, police issued advisory

Heavy traffic jams occurred in some areas of the country’s capital Delhi on Friday after waterlogging in many areas due to continuous rain. Giving information, Delhi Traffic Police said that due to waterlogging, traffic on NH-48 going from Dhaula Kuan to Mahipalpur has been affected.

Heavy traffic jam in many areas

According to the news agency report, the police said that ‘Due to waterlogging near Sainik Farm and Saket Metro Station, traffic on both sides of MB Road is affected. At the same time, due to waterlogging near Madanpur Khadar Lal Batti, traffic on the carriageway from Ashram to Badarpur is affected.’

According to the PWD, they have received 85 complaints related to waterlogging. There is still waterlogging in Mundka and the work to remove it is going on. All underpasses and subways are open for traffic. A PWD official said that the PWD has received 13 complaints regarding falling trees.

Delhi Police issued traffic advisory

The police has also issued an advisory for the people regarding the traffic jam situation due to rain, stating that due to waterlogging in Mundka, there is a traffic jam on both carriageways from Tikri Border to Peeragarhi and vice versa till Rohtak Road.

Passengers have been advised to avoid Mundka and take alternate routes. Drivers coming from Bahadurgarh to Peeragarhi have been asked to use the Jharoda-Najafgarh route or UER-III and then the Najafgarh-Nangloi route to reach Peeragarhi.

MCD received many complaints

According to MCD, after continuous rains, they have received 29 complaints of waterlogging and 15 complaints of tree cutting. Commuters said that there was heavy traffic on Delhi Gurgaon Road near Mahipalpur, Behra Enclave, Paschim Vihar, Patel Nagar crossing, Sangam Vihar towards Badarpur, Aurobindo Marg, Najafgarh Firni Road, MG Road etc. due to which people are taking a lot of time.
