In Pune, rescue operation of 70 people was conducted on Thursday. Everyone was stranded after the residential area was flooded. When the fire department got the news, the team reached the affected areas and conducted a rescue operation with the help of a boat. The army has taken charge in Ekta Nagar, Pune. Ekta Nagar of Pune is submerged in water. The situation here is bad since last night. There is no light and water. So far four people have died.

15 residential colonies submerged

Waterlogging in residential colonies in Pune has occurred on such a large scale that life has become difficult for the people of at least 15 colonies. Roads, streets, houses, everything is submerged in flood water. People are forced to go somewhere after passing through it. Women and the elderly are facing the most problems.

Army deployed for rescue in Pune

Several contingents of the Indian Army have been deployed in Pune to evacuate the affected people and take them to safe places. About 400 people have been evacuated so far. Officials said that two army contingents have been deployed in the Sinhagarh Road area badly affected by the floods. Apart from this, teams from NDRF, fire department as well as district and city disaster management cells have also been deployed to carry out relief operations. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said that if necessary, people affected by the rain will be taken to Pune by air.

Bhide bridge and APMC market submerged in water

To save the dam from overflow, 40 thousand cusecs of water had to be released. Sinhagad Road is submerged in water. Corporation workers are busy in draining the water. In view of the worsening situation after the rain, Deputy CM and Minister in-charge Ajit Pawar are continuously holding meetings. In view of the flood situation, the district administration has declared holiday in schools. Relief rescue is being intensified.

960 year old Shiva temple filled with water

Airlines issued advisory

Several airlines, including Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet, have issued advisories informing passengers that some of their flights to Mumbai have been delayed and diverted due to heavy rains. “Flight operations are being impacted due to heavy rains in Mumbai and as a result some of our flights have been canceled and diverted,” Air India said in a post on Twitter. “Offering a full refund or one-time complimentary rescheduling for confirmed bookings.”

Similarly, IndiGo also issued a statement on X, advising passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport. “Due to persistent and heavy rains in Mumbai, flight schedules are being delayed from time to time. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar took stock of the situation

State Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar took stock of the situation and spoke to the divisional commissioners and other officials of Mumbai, Pune and Thane on phone and directed to maintain vigil and carry out rescue and relief operations. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation also appealed to the people of Mumbai in a post on X to avoid leaving Mumbai in view of the ‘red alert’ issued till Friday morning. Apart from this, holiday has been declared in all schools and colleges in the city as the weather department has issued a red alert in Mumbai and neighboring Thane, Raigarh and Palghar districts.
