Political unrest continues after the discovery of fish oil and animal fat in ghee from the Balaji Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh government has claimed that adulteration was found in the ghee used to make laddus. This adulteration was due to the ghee contract signed by the previous government. Now Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has also made a statement in this regard.

“This needs to be considered deeply by authorities across India to protect the sanctity of our religious places,” Rahul Gandhi wrote on the social media platform.

In fact, the Central government has asked the Andhra Pradesh government to provide a report on the allegations regarding ghee used in preparing laddoos and assured action after investigation. But after this revelation, on one hand, Sanatanis across the country are furious. Protests have also taken place in some cities like Bhopal. An application is being made to the High Court in the Supreme Court. On the other hand, political charges and counter charges are also going on. BJP leaders are demanding death penalty for the convicts. The Congress has raised a query to Chief Minister Naidu, asking why the Chief Minister did not disclose the matter for three months.

Jagan Mohan Reddy calls the allegations baseless

Congress has also demanded a CBI probe. So Jagan Mohan Reddy said Chandrababu Naidu was making baseless allegations to cover up the failure of 100 days. In fact, as soon as there was a change in the Andhra Pradesh government on June 12, samples of ghee used in offerings at the Tirupati temple were tested. The inquiry report was ready on June 23, but the truth came out only in September, 100 days into the Naidu government. In the report that came out, what was found in the ghee used to make laddus indicated that besides oilseeds and vegetables, ghee could have contained fish oil and animal fats. The investigation was conducted at the Centre for Analysis and Learning of Animal Husbandry and Food or CALF laboratory of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).

The report talks about fish oil, animal fat and lard.

The report states that the ghee used in these laddus is adulterated and may also contain fish oil, animal fat and lard. Animal fat refers to the fat present in the body of animals. And it is also adulterated with lard. Lard means animal fat and in the same report it is mentioned that this ghee may also contain fish oil. However, the report also writes that due to certain circumstances, animal fat and its traces can reach the cow ghee and false positive results may appear in the test.

Rahul also reacted to Odisha issue

Rahul Gandhi also posted on social media about the case of an attack on an officer in Odisha, saying, “The horrific incident in Odisha raises serious questions about the state of law and order in the country. The disgusting incident in which the fiancée of an officer who was traveling to Odisha was beaten and tortured in a detention center is a shame for all humanity. Crimes against women have become completely uncontrolled and rampant within the government system. If an ordinary citizen seeks help, who can he count on? All perpetrators of this incident should be punished to the fullest extent of the law – it is necessary to set an example of justice and safety for the people of India, especially women.
