After the recent devastating floods in Bangladesh, anti-India propaganda is gaining momentum in the country. Many organizations have alleged that India opened the dam of the Tambur Hydroelectric Project in Tripura which caused unexpected floods in Bangladesh, causing massive devastation in many districts.

It is alleged that the Tambur Dam in Tripura was suddenly opened, due to which many low-lying settlements of Bangladesh were submerged. According to these allegations, India opened the gates of the dam without any prior notice, due to which a large part of Bangladesh was flooded. There is deep resentment in Bangladesh over this incident, and propaganda is being spread on a large scale against India on social media.

Allegations of political vendetta

Messages being spread on social media and by local organizations are claiming that India has taken this step as a political retaliation against the recent change of power in Bangladesh. Allegations are being made that after the fall of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, India has deliberately caused this flood to put pressure on the new government.

Role of organizations in anti-India propaganda

Organizations like Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shivir have taken advantage of this opportunity to incite anti-India sentiments in Bangladesh. These organizations have spread the message among the public that India is adopting a hostile attitude towards Bangladesh and this flood is part of its conspiracy. These messages, which are spreading rapidly on social media, have created deep concern and anger among the public.

India has not yet given any response

There has been no official response from India on these allegations yet. However, experts say that such floods usually occur due to natural reasons and it is not right to see it as a deliberate act. Releasing water from the Tambur dam in Tripura may be a normal process, which may have been done to control the water level during monsoon rains. Relief work is going on in the flood-affected areas of Bangladesh.
