Elections are going on in Maharashtra, but Mahayoti’s camp is causing uproar in Delhi. The three leaders will meet Amit Shah today for final talks on the seat issue.
CM Eknath Shinde will arrive in Delhi in the afternoon ahead of a meeting of Mahayut Shah with Amit Shah. In fact, there are seats in the state claimed by all three allies, and the purpose of the meeting is to reach consensus on those seats.
Coalition parties hold many seats between themselves
NCP Ajit Pawar group’s MLA Balasaheb Asbe is the MLA from Ashti assembly constituency, but the BJP’s Suresh Dhas wants to contest elections there. In Tasgaon, the BJP wants former MP Sanjay Kakkar’s son to contest the election, but here Ajit Pawar wants to contest against his own party candidate. Rohit Patil of Sharad Pawar’s organization can contest elections here. All three parties claim that all these issues will be resolved at today’s meeting.

Candidate names for 106 seats have not yet been announced

Maharashtra has 288 assembly seats. The state has a coalition government of the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) and NCP (Ajit Pawar). In the 2019 elections, the BJP won a maximum of 105 seats. The BJP currently has 103 MLAs. Shiv Sena (Shinde) has 40 MLAs and NCP (Ajit) has 43 MLAs. In this case, the BJP is the largest party in the state.
The election date is November 20
Polls for 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra will be held on November 20. Results will be announced on November 23. In the last election, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena 56 seats, the NCP 54 seats and the Congress 44 seats. However, after the elections, the Shiv Sena broke away from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and formed the government in alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray becomes chief minister.

In June 2022, there was internal discord within the Shiv Sena. Following this, Eknath Shinde sacked 40 MLAs of the party. Eknath Shinde became the chief minister with the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Now the Shiv Sena is divided into two groups. Sharad Pawar’s NCP was also divided into two factions – Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar.
