October 31, 2024: Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino on Clown: Pas de deuxis the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2019 film, starring Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix. In the episode, Gaga plays Harleen “Lee” Quinzel, who later evolves into Harley Quinn, while Phoenix reprises her role as Arthur Fleck the Joker.
The film, which premiered on October 4, is known for its unique musical elements, based on Phoenix’s dance scene from the first film. Tarantino described his experience watching the sequel as surprisingly immersive, saying, “I really, really enjoyed it, really. A lot. Like, a lot.” What he was looking forward to was an intellectual exercise, But was drawn to the storytelling and performances.

Tarantino specifically praised Phoenix’s performance, calling it one of the best he’s ever seen and highlighting Gaga’s character. He pointed out that although the original clown draw inspiration from taxi driverthis sequel is reminiscent of born killersaid, “This is the natural born killer I dreamed of seeing.”
