Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu, who arrived in Punjab’s Muktsar to campaign for the Jidar Bahar Assembly by-election, likened farmers to the Taliban. Targeting farmers, Ravneet Bittu said it was not farmers but some farmer leaders who were opposing the BJP in the state. Let us tell you that polls will be held on November 20 for four Assembly seats in Punjab. These seats are Gidderbaha, Barnala, Dera Baba Nanak and Chabbewal.
Bittu said only Congress leaders would send farmers. The lands of leading large farmers will be inspected. After the by-election, let’s talk about how much land he had when he was a farmer, and how much land he has now as a leader?
Bittu warned protesting farmer leaders that their properties would be investigated after the by-elections. He said the survey would be carried out on the properties of farmer leaders after they become farmers.

Comparing farmers to the Taliban
Bittu said farmer leaders themselves have become commission agents and sheller owners and are now robbing fertilizer trucks in Punjab. They were robbing a train carrying fertilizer. He said they had become the Taliban. Ravneet Bittu issued a statement targeting the farmers of Punjab, saying that only some farmer leaders are against the BJP, while the rest of the farmers support the BJP.
Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher of Sanyukta Kisan Morcha (apolitical) said Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu should be investigated. The farmers called the leaders Taliban. He said who stopped the farmers for inspection? They can investigate at any time. We are not afraid. Forget about after the election, surveys should be done during the election.
Demand an apology from the federal minister of state
Sarwant Singh Pandel said ministers are threatening farmers in the state but they cannot be intimidated by threats. He said Bittu was once a Congress leader. At that time he often made remarks in favor of farmers. Former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh had made similar remarks but now he has also targeted farmers. Sarwan Pandhel also asked Ravneet Bittu to apologize for comparing farmers with the Taliban. He said it was completely wrong to use the word Taliban and the real Taliban was the Bharatiya Janata Party which was promoting violence in Manipur.
