A large amount of cash was seized from a private car in Khed Shivpur area of Pune district in Maharashtra. Preliminary information suggests that the amount seized is Rs 4-5 crore. This train runs from Pune to Kolhapur.
The matter came to light after the Pune Rural Police conducted a probe at the Shivpur village toll plaza in view of the elections. The white Innova was taken to Rajgarh police station. Four people have been detained in the case. Let us tell you that elections have been announced in Maharashtra, after which such inspection activities are being carried out by the police.
The car belongs to the MLA’s son.
Information revealed that the person driving in the car was Shahji Nalawade, a worker of Sangola MLA Shahji Bapu Patil. Shahaji Bapu is the MLA of the Shiv Sena party led by Eknath Shinde. Preliminary information received so far suggests that the car from which the cash was seized belongs to Shahji Bapu Patil’s son.
Police hand over cash to income tax department
The Pune Rural Police seized Rs 5 crore in cash during a routine vehicle check at the Khed Shivpur toll plaza late on Monday night. The money was found in a white Innova. The cash has been handed over to the income tax department for further investigation into its origin.
