Provide relief to AAP MLA Amanatulah Khan in Waqf case, court orders his release

AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatulah Khan got a big relief from the Rouse Avenue court. The court refused to admit the supplementary chargesheet filed against him in the money laundering case. The court has ordered his release.

What did the court say?

The court said there was enough evidence to prosecute Amanatullah Khan but there was no sanction to prosecute him and therefore refused to take the case. The Rouse Avenue court further said that Amanatullah Khan will be released from judicial custody immediately on deposit of Rs 1 lakh and one surety of the same amount. The court further stated that there was no evidence to prosecute Maryam Siddiqui.

Amanatullah Khan is getting this relief ahead of Delhi’s assembly elections next year. Amanatullah is the MLA from Okhla. He was arrested in a money laundering case related to an alleged scam by the Delhi Waqf Board.
