The protests became so violent that hundreds of Sanatani Ekia Manch workers in Shribhumi district tried to march towards the Bangladesh border. During this period, police and BSF soldiers tried to stop them, causing tension on the ground.

Sanatani Ekya Manch has launched the ‘Bangladesh Chalo Abhiyan’ campaign on the issue, which is being launched in Assam. Activists at the forum said the atrocities against Bangladesh’s Hindu minority should be raised against at the international level. They claim the government and administration there failed to ensure the safety of minorities.

During the demonstrations, workers shouted slogans demanding strict action against Bangladeshi militants. The police and BSF stopped the protesters from approaching the border, but all the workers continued to protest. During this period, conflicts occurred in many places, but after the situation subsided, the situation was brought under control.

The appeal was made to the Government of India

Sanatani Ekya Manch said their movement will continue until concrete steps are taken for the rights and security of minorities in Bangladesh. The forum also called on the Indian government to discuss the matter with the Bangladesh government to ensure the safety of Hindus living there.

Tensions between India and Bangladesh

After the political unrest in Bangladesh in August, an interim government led by Muhammad Yunus came to power. Since then, tensions have arisen between India and Bangladesh. Because there were a lot of attacks on Hindus here during the change of government. Not only that, the temple was also demolished. However, India has been concerned about attacks on minorities, especially Hindus.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes this step

India’s foreign ministry called on Bangladesh to take all measures to protect minorities. At the same time, he expressed hope that the case related to the arrested Chinmoy Krishna Das would be handled fairly, fairly and transparently. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India has always strongly raised the issue of threats and targeted attacks against Hindus and other minorities with the Bangladesh government.
