The doctors protesting against the brutality that happened at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital have now agreed to talk to CM Mamata Banerjee. On Wednesday, the junior doctors decided that they will send an email to the Chief Minister’s Office to start the talks. They say that they want to talk to the CM to resolve this issue. Let us tell you that on Tuesday, the doctors had refused to talk to CM Mamata.

A day before, he had refused to talk…

Let us tell you that despite the Supreme Court’s deadline, the doctors have not ended their protest. The Supreme Court had given the doctors a deadline of 5 pm on Tuesday to return to work. But the doctors continued the protest. At the same time, the Bengal government had also called a delegation of doctors to meet on Tuesday. An email was also sent to the students. But this proposal of the Mamata government was rejected by the protesting doctors.

Mamata Banerjee kept waiting…

Regarding this move of Mamata government, TMC leader Chandrima Bhattacharya said that the Bengal government had contacted the protesting students on email and called a delegation of 10 doctors for talks. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was waiting in her room to meet the delegation of doctors, but there was no response from the doctors in response to this email. After not getting any response from the doctors, the CM left the Bengal Secretariat.

Doctors had made this allegation

The doctors said that while reacting to the Bengal government’s contact for talks, we got a mail with great surprise. We had five demands, which included the demand for removal of DHS and DME and the Health Secretary. But surprisingly, the Health Secretary has mailed us. He said that if we want, we can come to Nabanna with 10 representatives. The email of the Health Secretary has come. We do not see this as a positive sign. We are always ready for talks, but the Health Secretary sending an email is very insulting for us.

Supreme Court has given deadline

During the hearing in the Supreme Court on Monday, the CJI had said that the doctors should return to work and we will ensure all the facilities provided to them. If they do not do so, strict action will be taken against them. The Supreme Court ordered that the police will ensure that the necessary conditions are created to ensure the safety of all doctors, which includes separate duty rooms, toilet facilities, installation of CCTV cameras. Doctors should first return to work and they should complete their work by returning to work.

Let us tell you that a female trainee doctor was brutally murdered in Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital on the night of 8-9 August. After this incident, there were protests all over the country. Since then, doctors have been protesting in Bengal.
